Sprinkle simple pleasures throughout my day. I resolve to acknowledge what my simple pleasures are, and to put a few of them in each day. I know this will go a long way to making my life more enjoyable.
Do nothing. Sometimes, it’s good to forget about doing things, and so I resolve to do nothing and not to worry about what I’m NOT getting done.
Create time for solitude. In addition to slowing down and enjoying the tasks I do, and doing less of them, I also resolve to just have some time to myself.
Happy New Year Everyone!
Eliminate stress. In 2015 resolve to find the stressful things in my life, and find ways to eliminate them.
Stop multi-tasking. This is an important point. I resolve to do one thing at a time, and do it well. Namely, CELEBRATE the passing of a great year. Happy New Year’s eve everyone!!!
Slow down and enjoy every task. This might be the most most important tip I’ve discovered for simplifying one’s life. Then why does it have to be so hard? I resolve to slow down no matter what I’m doing; whether it’s a work task, eating, brushing my teeth, cooking dinner, driving Grace to school. I will try to enjoy whatever I’m doing. I’ll try to pay attention, instead of thinking about other things.
Specificly, I will eat slowly. This is just a more specific application of taking things more slowly but it’s something I do every day, so it deserves special attention.
I will also drive more slowly. Another application of the same principle, driving is something I do that’s often mindless and rushed. Instead, I resolve to slow down and enjoy the journey.
Eliminate as much as possible from my to-do list. NEWS FLASH: I can’t do everything on my to-do list. Even if I could, more things will come up. As much as I can, I resolve to simplify my to-do list down to the essentials. This allows me to rush less and focus more on what’s important.
